Pride Month Post

It is officially pride month. As we see our feeds filling up with celebrations of the LGBTQ+ community, please do not let your heart fill up with condemnation. Please do not dismiss these people’s experiences as stupid, or say that people exploring gender identity are dumb.

As Christians who believe God designed us to fit into one of two genders, male or female, and as Christians who believe that God designed sex to be between a married man and woman only, it is easy for us to look at the LGBTQ+ agenda and be angry or so convinced of our perspective that we dismiss theirs as stupid.

BUT the enemy’s schemes rarely seem stupid to those he is influencing. The enemy is known to be very good at twisting the truth only barely so that it still looks and even feels like truth, and as Christians we should all know this. All of us have experienced this deceit in one way or another. We live in pain. We struggle with our identity, with shame in our bodies, with sexual brokenness and confusion. ALL OF US.

The enemy speaks lies to all of us in these areas. It is the Holy Spirit who speaks truth, and we have experienced that. It’s our testimony. This pride month, let us shift our perspective from how angry we are to how full of faith we are that the Holy Spirit has power to respond to the schemes of the enemy and save those he loves.

God has sons and daughters among the LGBTQ+ community and even now he is preparing their hearts to receive him and become his own. BELIEVE FOR THEM!! PRAY FOR THEM!!

This pride month, may our hearts not be hardened with pride against a situation that is confusing or painful to watch. Y’all, gender identity and sexual orientation are no longer something we can dismiss or form canned answers about. We have to engage. May our hearts be open to what God is doing in this community: these are people, many of whom will be saved and will spend eternity with us.

This pride month, let us ask God what he is doing and prepare our hearts to participate!! 💛
